Note to Students and Parents of Students

Kidsʼ Classes:
  • Smocks are strongly encouraged. We get very messy and some of the materials stain clothing!
  • I will be meeting you in front of the building 5 minutes before class starts and I will also bring the kids downstairs promptly at the end of class. Directions to the studio can be found on the Artspace website at www.artspacemaynard.com.
  • Students may bring water bottles to the studio but please encourage your child to finish snacks prior to entering the studio.
  • All students are entitled to feel safe and comfortable in the studio. Students are expected to be respectful and considerate of their classmates and instructors. In the event that a student is unable to meet this expectation, his or her parents will be called and instructed to pick up their child.
  • Due to space constraints we cannot accommodate having siblings and parents accompany students to class. I would be happy to discuss other accommodations to ensure a successful art experience for your child.

Adult and Teen Classes:
  • I will meet students in the back of the Artspace building 5 minutes before class starts. Students can park in the lot behind the Artspace building.
  • Please make every effort to be on time. Late arrivals are extremely disruptive to the class. Many times demonstrations are interrupted and late students do not have sufficient time to “warm-up.” The warm-up is very important to the creative process and serves as an important transition for students who may be rushing from school, work or other activities to the studio. But I also realize that “stuff happens” and getting to the studio late may be unavoidable on occasion. The doors to the building are usually locked so if you are running late you can call me on my cell phone and I or my studio helper will let you in. My number is 978-430- 9307. You will not be able to reach me through the Artspace number or the doorbell!
  • Please remember that there are artists working in the building so we need to walk through the halls as quietly as possible.
  • ALL CELL PHONES MUST BE TURNED OFF OR TO VIBRATE. IF YOU MUST TAKE A CALL PLEASE DO SO OUT OF THE STUDIO.
